Well I am clearly not a reliable blogger.... I have made several changes in my set up so I wanted to document it here.I have started playing a great Sadowsky Will Lee model that has been the closest sub for my 1965 Jazz. I love the feel of the neck and the light weight and the preamp is very quiet and sounds great.
I am also using a Glockenklang Blue Soul that is a great amp for playing electric and upright on the same gig. The amp has 2 separate switchable inputs and an EQ that you can turn on and off via footswitch.
To go with the Glockenklang I am using the Bergantino HD112 and Bergantino HD210.
This set up is a little heaver than the Markbass setup but I am loving the tone and feel like it is a much better match for getting a true tone out of my upright.
